Sapgate Lane

Sapgate Lane

Sapgate Lane is a development of 17 residential properties in Thornton, Bradford.

Being in an elevated position, it provides stunning views across Pinch Beck Valley, but not necessarily the best conditions for highway design.

A steep slope made designing the access road and drainage slightly more complicated, while pile foundations were the best solution to the poor ground conditions on site.

“Being a chartered engineer myself, I find myself being particularly astute towards the practise of over-engineering when finding the solution to particular construction problems. I am happy to say that this is one of the reasons for our continued association with Holdgate’s. They consistently provide us with timely, cost-effective and workable solutions to the many construction challenges that frequently come our way. We are proud to associate ourselves with Holdgate’s, and the faultless service that they have provided us with over the last 30 years.”
